Your shower is leaking into the ceiling below. The tiles do not always have to come off.
MasterSealed helps Eastern Suburbs owners stop a leaking shower with epoxy regrout, or with a floor retile when the membrane has failed.
Bottom line: A wet ceiling, damp skirting or musty smell under a shower is usually water getting through failed grout, silicone or the floor membrane. Many jobs are fixed by removing the old grout and regrouting with impervious epoxy, without taking the tiles off. If the floor has no fall or the membrane has failed, the floor and bottom wall row are rebuilt, waterproofed and tiled.
Non-invasive epoxy regrout when the leak is at the surface joints.
Shower floor retile when the substrate or membrane needs repair.
Balcony regrout or retile, and full bathroom tiling if you want it.

What you are dealing with
You notice a stain on the ceiling under the bathroom, paint bubbling on the wall beside the shower, or water on the floor outside the screen. Cement grout has gone dark. Silicone has lifted at the hob. A previous patch of silicone has not held.
Functional
You want the leak stopped and the bathroom usable again, without weeks of demolition if the tiles are still sound.
Emotional
You want to stop checking the ceiling every time someone showers, especially in an apartment where the unit below is involved.
Social
In a strata building you want a clear repair you can explain to the committee or the neighbour, not an open-ended renovation.
What it costs to leave it
This is the practical cost, not a scare line. Water that keeps moving into plaster, timber or the unit below is more expensive than the repair that stops it.
Money: Ceiling repairs, paint and, in apartments, a claim from the lot below. A full strip-out later costs more than a regrout done while the tiles still match.
Time: The bathroom stays out of normal use, and strata approvals drag if damage spreads.
Opportunity: A sale or tenancy inspection is harder with an active leak and a stained ceiling.
Stress: You are the person the neighbour calls. That is avoidable once the entry point is sealed.
It does not have to stay like this. The next step is an inspection that says which repair fits, not a quote for a renovation you may not need.
After the repair
You use the shower again without watching the ceiling. The joints are epoxy, so they do not drink water the way porous cement grout does. If the floor was rebuilt, water falls to the waste and the membrane is under the new tiles. In an apartment, you can tell the neighbour the entry path has been closed, and you have photos of the work.
Who does the work
Empathy: We have spent years on bathroom renovations in Sydney’s eastern suburbs, hands on, and kept hearing the same urgent job: the shower leaks and the owner does not want the whole room demolished.
Authority: The work is tiling and wet-area repair, not a general handyman visit. Regrout, floor rebuild, balcony tiling and full bathroom renovations are all done by the same crew.
Method: We separate a surface-joint leak from a failed floor membrane before we price the job. That is why some showers are epoxy-regrouted with the tiles left in place, and some have the floor and bottom wall rows rebuilt.
The two repairs, and when each one is used
MasterSealed is a wet-area tiling repair service for Eastern Suburbs showers and balconies. The mechanism is the inspection: surface water through grout and junctions is stopped with epoxy grout; water that has already passed a failed membrane is stopped by rebuilding the floor, waterproofing it and tiling it again.

How a job runs
Book a free inspection — we look at the ceiling, the joints, the fall and the waste.
You get a quote for the repair that matches the leak, not a default renovation.
The work is done, the area is epoxy-sealed, and you are told when the shower can be used.
Is this the right job for you?
Right for you if you own or manage a home or apartment in the Eastern Suburbs, the shower or balcony is leaking or the grout has failed, and you want the smallest repair that will actually stop the water.
Not the right call if you need a plumber for a burst pipe in the wall, a structural engineer for a cracked slab, or a builder for a room that is being redesigned from scratch and you have not decided on tiles yet. We can still talk about the tiling once the design is set.
